Today

Back in Jax until Saturday (Or Sunday).  Today my plans are:

  1. Smoking
  2. Doing Dishes (Maybe)
  3. Fixing my iTunes Library
  4. Playing Dragon Age: Origins Round 2

Come over if you would like to partake, keep me company, or just drive by my window and heckle me because it’s open.

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Another great song by a band with a crappy name.

Radical Face - Wrapped in Piano Strings

Up until the last year, I had never knocked over a glass of liquid.  I think the count has reached like 15 for this month already.  This year will be known as the Year of the Klutz.

I’m grinding some rusted bolts off of my boat.  Sound dirty?

I’m still not quite sure how to address this phenomenon, but nevertheless I shall make an attempt.

I couldn’t help but notice [since joining Tumblr] a sharp increase in the amount of self assurance teens seem to be giving themselves over the internet.  But this fact is depreciated when one takes into account the amount of depressing and pathetic shit those same people post.  The inconsistency is unnerving, but it runs rampant regardless.

In days of yore, one would take all the angst, depression, and uncertainty and channel it into some sort of creative facet.  However, these days it seems instead of writing a song or a story about the pain they are experiencing, they turn to the internet instead.  Here they find not only other people going through the same thing, they are once again reassured in their bitching and moaning.

But, oh!  What’s this?  I am also bitching and moaning right now…And on the internet of all things!  And yes, I will admit I’m in a crabby mood.  And I already forgot the reason I started this post.

Seriously?  See LiveJournal circa 2001.  This phenomenon is not new.

I avoided the whole LiveJournal thing because I thought it was for retards.

Well, rest assured, Mark, that tumblr is LiveJournal for idiots.  You want to post some text, an image, filmic material, no need for code.  You press a button, copy/paste, and voilà, you too can pass along someone else’s material, or, as you’re lamenting, your own dull thoughts.

I did use Xanga, which when it originally started was a LiveJournal-esque thing for Asians.  I don’t fight the stereotypes, I embrace them.

I saw this yesterday. I went in a little jaded because my friend told me he thought it was as good as the Royal Tenenbaums, but I refused to believe this possible.Let me just say I sat in awe of this movie after it was done for a good 15 minutes. Visually, it was extremely pleasing for me. The animation for the facial expressions was complex and very well done, and more than made up for the stop-motion [which is already appealing to me, but not for some]. Apparently Wes Anderson wore the sensor suit for all the motion capturing for Mr. Fox himself. My one argument with the film before seeing it and hearing it was as good as Tenenbaums was that the soundtrack could not compare. No way, I thought. And it’s true, it does not quite compare, but while there are no The Beatles or Elliott Smith songs, it does have The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. What seems to be most endearing about this film to me, though, is how exquisitely ‘Wes Anderson’ it is. His style saturates everything and translates so well to animation. If you’ve seen this, share your thoughts. If not, go see it and let me know what you think.

I’d choke out an orphan baby for this right now.
